Reception: Saturday April 28th 2 - 4 p.m
Tay River Gallery's spring art show Blooms features dramatic floral paintings by four dynamic Ontario artists: Leah Dockrill, Bill Keast, Andrew Neil Olscher and Gilda Pontbriand. The beauty of the flower is eloquently addressed with a mix of artistic interpretations from realism to impressionism. Reception will be held Saturday April 28th from 2 - 4 p.m during the Festival of the Maples in Perth. The public is welcome.
Leah Dockrill, Toronto area artist and elected member of the Society of Canadian Artists and the Colour and Form Society, presents realistic floral paintings with a dramatic close up view of her subject matter and compelling colour palette.
Bill Keast, Belleville area artist and former art educator, brings an exciting mix of florals, up close and personal in his unique style using the "cloisonné technique" of outlining forms.
Andrew Neil Olscher, Lakefield area professional artist and writer, brings his dynamic free flowing style of bold, thickly textured paintings that take flower groupings in natural surroundings and still life arrangements as the focus
Gilda Pontbriand, Ottawa area and international award winning artist, paints her flowers as finely detailed images that are as revealing of the artist's internal processes as they are of the physical beauty of the flower.
