Kirei worked in theatre as a stage manager for 15 years before returning back to jewellery, she has toured many North American cities and towns including Broadway in New York City and The Kennedy Centre in Washington, DC. She feels that her style formed in theatre “When I am designing I try and design something that can be seen from a distance, a piece that engages and draws the viewer to it. Also I feel that my jewellery is dramatic, I want the end result to evoke a reaction weather it be positive or negative. I thrive to make the piece of jewellery have a relationship with the wearer, as I want the wearer to feel empowered.”

Kirei creates her designs using various techniques such as art clay silver, glass fusing, soldering with lead free solder, sandblasting into glass and sculpting copper wire into unique shapes that she hammers flat. The end result is a unique, exciting and timeless piece of jewellery. Kirei is

constantly creating new designs by interchanging techniques, pushing the traditional technique in different directions or creating her own techniques. It is important to her to keep exploring and expanding her knowledge with each piece created. New and old customers alike describe her work as “truly original” “imaginative” and “inspiring”.
