Biography: Gudrun Schutz

Gudrun Schutz (Craig) was born and raised in Germany. Canada, especially the Ottawa Valley, has been her home since 1966. She is a self-taught artist, who was introduced to canvas by attending a workshop with Kevin Dodds in Arnprior, Ontario in 2001. Since then her inspirations come from photographs, past memories, books, watching PBS or a combination of things. Her medium is acrylic and oil. She loves nature with its colors and shapes and lights. Trees, rocks and "fall" are just a few of her favorites. To teach ones self is an ongoing process which she intends to pursue as long as she is able. Painting is an experience that gives her pleasure and peace in life.
